

A high percentage of marketing professionals are personalising their marketing efforts by tailoring their messages to the specific needs and interests of customers, a survey has found.
Between June and July, Chief Marketer surveyed 675 marketing professionals in a wide range of sectors.
81% of respondents said they now personalise their marketing efforts to some extent. Of those who said they customise their marketing activities, 89% send out personalised emails and 58% send out personalised direct mail, while 36% use the Web and 31% use social media to send targeted messages to potential customers.
58% of those who conduct personalised marketing use consumers' purchase histories in order to customise their marketing messages, while 51% use voluntarily submitted site registration information.
