The UK government wants Londoners to work from home during next year’s Olympic Games.

The Transport Secretary, Philip Hammond, has suggested employees who work in London take up home working during London 2012 in order to ease transport congestion and avoid travel chaos.

According to the Office for National Statistics, 1.3 million people in the UK currently work from home on a full time basis, while 3.7 million sometimes work from home or use their homes as a base.
